The Barr Foundation
Thanks to support from the Barr Foundation, eligible nonprofits will receive a choice of technology assessments that helps evaluate your nonprofit’s general technology infrastructure, cybersecurity risk, data maturity, digital presence, or new technology readiness. You will meet with a Tech Impact Advisor to complete your chosen assessment and receive afull report including actionable recommendations with estimated costs. Additional follow up engagements may also be available to assist with implementing the recommendations.

Service Details
TechCheck is an expert-guided technology assessment that allows you to evaluate your nonprofit's technology needs and get actionable recommendations to help move your organization forward. Unlike other online assessments, a technology advisor will assist with the assessment and create customized recommendations for your nonprofit.
This technology capacity assessment tool evaluates your organization’s current technology use and digital maturity. You will receive an overall score and ratings in six categories:
- Infrastructure
- Productivity & Collaboration
- Security & Continuity
- Data & Strategic Systems
- Support
- Governance
Our Approach
Tech Impact will work with you to schedule a 90-minute Teams meeting. We ask that you include individuals from your leadership team who know the organization's technology infrastructure, software systems, data management practices, and policies. We will evaluate the information collected at the TechCheck and deliver a report that provides recommendations and resources for technology improvements, including projects and budget where applicable.
Typical engagement time is expected to be 1-3 weeks.
SecCheck is a low-cost, expert-guided security and compliance assessment that allows you to assess your nonprofit's needs and get actionable recommendations to help protect your organization and sensitive data. Unlike other online assessments, a technology advisor will assist with the assessment and create customized recommendations for your nonprofit.
This security and compliance assessment tool evaluates your organization’s current cyber security and compliance maturity. You will receive a rating in seven different categories:
- Application Security
- Business Continuity
- Cloud Security
- Data Security
- Identity Security
- Policy
- Infrastructure Security
Your organization will receive a 15 - 18 page report that details each category's responses and rankings and provides recommendations for improvement. The report also includes a resource page that provides more information about specific remediation.
Project Overview
Tech Impact will schedule a one-hour consultation with our cyber security associate to work through the assessment questions. Once the questions are completed, the cyber security associate will develop the rankings and send the finished report.
AICheck helps nonprofit organizations evaluate their current capabilities and develop a strategic roadmap for effective AI implementation. The assessment measures organizational strengths across six critical domains and provides tailored recommendations that align with your mission and capacity.

Tech Impact's DigiCheck assessment is designed to evaluate the current effectiveness of your nonprofit’s digital strategy: how you engage stakeholders across all digital channels, including your website, your social media properties, and your email campaigns.
The resulting report is meant to help your organization understand how well you are—or aren't— leveraging digital tools to fundraise, manage and recruit volunteers, raise awareness of your brand, or motivate people to take action.
Our Approach
Tech Impact will work with you to schedule a 60-minute meeting. We ask that you include individuals on your team who are able to discuss your digital strategy practice—a marketing or communications associate, a member of your development team, or someone in leadership. We will evaluate the information collected and deliver a report that provides recommendations and resources.
