Volunteer And Change A Life

Over 800 volunteers from more than 200 organizations have provided mentorship, led soft-skills sessions, visited for lunch-and-learns, and hosted interns for ITWorks and CXWorks classes in Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Las Vegas. Your participation is what sets this program apart and what makes being a student such a special experience.

There Are Several Ways To Get Involved

Become A Mentor

Help a current student stay motivated by providing guidance, support, and encouragement during the program.

Time Commitment: 1 hour per week for 18 weeks; in-person, via phone or email.

Host A Friday Session

Teach students “soft skills” needed to succeed in the workplace. Present the topic yourself, or with a group of colleagues. Curriculum is provided

Time Commitment: 9AM to 3PM on the Friday of your choice.

Host A Lunch And Learn

Join students over the lunch hour. Bring in food and open a discussion about your career path and learning moments.

Time Commitment: One hour on a day of your choice, Monday through Thursday

Provide an Internship

Host a student (or two) for a 5-week paid internship. Interns work 24 hours per week, Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Time Commitment: Minimum of 5 weeks, plus time to interview and select your intern.

Do I Need A Technical Background?

No, volunteers do not need to have a technical background: the professional and soft skills our students gain from volunteers are as important as the technical skills and work experience. These connections build a network of contacts for students and promote pathways to employment.   

What Is The Time Commitment?

Time commitment for volunteering can be anywhere from one hour a week, to one session a cohort. If you have interest in lending your perspective and expertise, but are not sure how it might fit, please fill out the form and reach out to talk to our team.

Is There A Financial Obligation?

No financial obligations for volunteering. Your time is most valuable.
